Week 8 - New Model

I created another model this week using a 1:50 scale. I enjoyed completing the paper folding techniques in earlier weeks, so I used another technique to create the roof of the model. I focused more on the exterior of the building this week rather than the interior, taking inspiration from the iterative model I made in week 7 in terms of using a folding technique for the roof. I used balsa wood for the majority of the house, with a paper roof and tracing paper used for the back windows. I created four slim, vertical windows on one side of the house, with each window only opening from one side (top or bottom). I thought this would create an interesting lighting effect, and would also be something a little different as opposed to a regular window. I'm quite proud of the pool I created as it is made up of a few layers of materials (boxboard, sandpaper, tracing paper, plastic, and paper) which creates depth and a more realistic effect.

For my next model, I will try to create more levels to this 'house', as realistically, it is only the size of one room and is more of a pool house.
